Under the BYOLD Program, personal computing devices can be brought to school to assist with student learning. This device needs to meet device specifications which are recommended by the school and listed below. Please note that these are minimum specifications:
Additional Recommendations:
- Maximum weight: 2kg
- Maximum screen size - 14 inch
- Accidental loss and breakage insurance
- Protective casing (scratch/impact/liquid splash resistance)
Devices not permitted as part of the BYOLD program:
- iPhones/smartphones
- tablet devices (eg iPad)
- any device with screen smaller than 11 inch or without a physical keyboard
Free Software for BYOLD:
The NSW Department of Education has enterprise agreements which allow the download and installation of software to support Bring Your Own Learning Device initiatives. These include Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft Office 365 which are provided to students free of charge for Windows and Mac Devices.
