Elective offerings typically include STEM, creative arts, technology, languages, sport, and applied learning, tailored to student interest and demand.
Learning and assessment
Teaching combines project-based and traditional learning experiences. Assessment is formative and ongoing, with a strong focus on feedback and growth.
In Stage 5, we build on the New Metrics for Success framework introduced in Stage 4, further developing capabilities such as:
- Acting ethically
- Active citizenship
- Agency in learning
- Communication and collaboration
- Creativity and quality thinking
This focus ensures students strengthen the skills they need for senior school and life beyond.
Preparing for Stage 6 and beyond
Stage 5 supports students in making informed choices for Stage 6 and life beyond school. This includes:
- Career mentoring and pathway planning
- Work experience and industry visits
- Support to grow in independence, set personal goals, and prepare with confidence for senior school and beyond
Students make their Year 11 subject selections during Year 10, with guidance provided through mentoring and parent information sessions.
