Big Picture Education

At Jerrabomberra High School, Big Picture Education helps students thrive - one learner at a time, in a community of learners.

Big Picture Education is available at Jerrabomberra High School as an optional program for students who apply and are accepted.

Personalised learning

Students are at the centre of their education. Each learner creates a personalised plan that reflects their interests, passions and goals.

Advisory

Learning takes place in small advisory groups, where students are known, supported and guided by a teacher who stays with them for several years.

Learning beyond the classroom

From Year 9, students participate in community-based internships and mentorships. These experiences connect learning to real-world opportunities and future pathways.

Authentic assessment

Instead of exams, students showcase their learning through exhibitions each term. This builds confidence, communication skills and ownership of their progress.

Senior pathways

In Years 11 and 12, students can graduate with the International Big Picture Learning Credential — a non-ATAR pathway recognised by universities, TAFEs and employers across Australia.

How to Apply

Students interested in joining the Big Picture program will be invited to apply. Applications are assessed to ensure students are ready to take part in this unique style of learning. For more information, please contact the school office.
